That would be nice, but what if people send very inappropriate messages? And how to monitor everything that is sent. It's possible, but not a easy or great thing to implement.

Maybe there could be some kind of a filter that blocks anything bad kind of like for the comments (I thought there was one for comments) or the user could block users or flag messages. But then people would send spam, too.
I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.
