I need a really GREAT one that will protect me if I give people my public IP. Can people mention REALLY great ones that will protect me for free? I have Avira Free, if you're wondering.

Don't have a bunch of firewalls running at once. It's like having more than one AV running is worse than having none at all.

Microsoft Security Essentials. It's not a firewall, but as from what I've heard it produces no false positives.
AVG 2011. Again, not a firewall but a very good anti-virus. Do NOT get any variant/type of AVG 2011 that has a green interface. If it does, it is most likely a virus pretending to be AVG.
Windows Firewall. I know it's included in XP, but I don't know about Vista and 7.
Windows Defender. Like MSE.
---OVERPROTECTIVE---
Norton Security. It is possible Norton Security will actually detect Scratch as a false positive. All programs with connectivity to the internet expect web-browsers are picked up by Norton as what we call a "false positive".
---ANTIVIRUS THAT IS VIRUS IN DISGUISE---
ThinkPoint. A virus, that disables explorer.exe and instead shows the ThinkPoint screen. To remove ThinkPoint, I recommend MalwareBytes, which is a free anti-virus.
---JOKE VIRUSES---
Somebody's sig. It even detects Microsoft Windows as a virus. A very virusy virus. Also, do not go about using InstallLinux.exe, that could install Linux on your computer.

ClamAV is a good antivirus. I have Ubuntu, and there's an automatic firewall I guess. It can't get virus's, the security is too epic!

Well, to start, Avira is very good. I don't know of many great software firewalls, but you could always use Windows Firewall.
Windows Firewall on my 7 box is enabled.
