How would you describe Scratch to someone who has never tried it before?
We are looking for ways to describe Scratch to kids, parents, and teachers who are new to Scratch.
How do you describe it?
What do you use Scratch for?
What do you like about Scratch?
Thanks for your help!

Scratch is a great program that lets you make your own games and animations. Everything is very easy to make and the best thing about it is that you can share everything you have made on the website.
I wish Scratch is more popular in Poland. I would love touse Scratch during IT lessons.

I would descibe scratch as an educational, fun way to learn about computers and to program simple projects. I use scratch to create games and animations and to learn basic programming. I like the friendly user interface and the amount of possibilities using scratch. Also i like it because i helped me start programming so i can now go on to harder languages such as flash and java.

Scratch is exactly like complex programming languages that you've probably tried before, except it expects you to not know what you're doing when you start it! Using a set of about 100 commands that can be snapped together visually, you can create just about anything and learn the fundamentals of more advanced languages. In addition, there's a whole community of people online who will give you feedback on your projects, and gladly help you with your questions.

Scratch is fun. Its fun to create your own games and story telling programs and to share them on the web. Its fun to learn how to do more things and its fun to help others with their projects. Scratch has a large number of enthusiastic programmers of all ages from all over the world.
Multimedia projects can be created to entertain, to teach, or just say what you want to say. Existing projects can be downloaded and modified to express what you want to express, to fit with the needs of your classroom, or just made to satisfy your need to create.
Tell a story, bounce a ball, make an interactive scrapbook, make a multimedia birthday card, draw an ever-changing picture, create a book report presentation, explain physics or explain how to tie a shoe. Its possible. Its within your grasp.
