The best OS?

First of all, a Mac is a PC.  The competitions is Mac vs. Windows vs. Linux.

Ey?  Which side am i on?  I will say....
None.  Whilewindows & Mac have been on a constant 'stand-off' phase, i am one of the people who believe that each OS has been designed for different people.  Linux is also another aspect which comes into play.  Linux is a useful toy for geeks, as it let's you delve into the information of programming, and then create your own work based on Linux.  While it is good for that sort of thing, as well as being free, it may not be exactly be what you need.  Say you want an 'All-round' OS.  Windows is probably the way to go.  It has the most Games & other applications to use, plus a lot of them are free.  However, due to the amount of users using it 'Hacker-Geeks' Create virus's to everyone's annoyance.  Mac, being a less-widely used OS, the 'Hacker-Geeks'  Aren't really bothered to create virus's for it, but there are still some out there.  If every person in the world was to suddenly go out and buy a Mac, then these people will start to create virus's for Mac's and the argument will continue.  Same go's for every other OS out there  wink

I agree.

Yay!  Someone who agrees  big_smile

Honestly, don't you hate it when you get into a flame-war because of the 'Mac Vs. PC'?  They should at least know that a Mac is a PC.

I firmly agree with every OS, including MS-DOS and Apple DOS, and also OS/2.

Did you know... ...that Windows NT 3.1 is actually OS/2 NT?

EDIT: Mac isn't a PC. It is an OS.

I think macs are terrible. I use Windows XP or 7 depending on what time of day it is.

OS X is an operating system. PC just means "personal computer," so a Mac is a PC.

And I agree with you, ssss. I've never really liked OS X (I prefer Linux/Windows 7) but they all have their place.

Windows XP and Windows 7. XP crashes sometimes, but is fast. And Windows 7 works like a dream.

Windows 7 crashes about 5 times as much as XP does for me.

The only time I've had Windows 7 crash or freeze is while using Apple software. (Knock on wood.)
