why is scratch so judgemental?

espesally on the forums.

on this one topic called only cool people. it was full of posts from (no offense to the users) uncool main-siters.

it was in the new scrath members forum so i could tell this was thier first time on the forums

so why are scratchers catogorized as forumers and main-site people? why are those people 0n the forums catogorized as cool and uncool and people on the main-site considered famous and not famous?

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

You should know, mr. "uncool main siters."

and just cause people go on the main site, doesn't make them bad.

Have you forgotten that the scratch forums misc part is not the main attraction as a social network but the programming and making projects part?

Because people want a way to classify themselves as higher than others?  tongue

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

For example, we red-text users are above you black-text users, no offense. But anyways, there are some people who only use the forums, and there are some people who only use the main site. You can't change that but what you can do is not label them 'cool' or 'uncool' for doing certain things and not others.

Lot's of main-site users are awesome (EXAMPLE: m44) but they don't go on the forums. I am one of those people who uses the forums a lot but isn't "cool".

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

People on the forums are only "cool" if you let yourself believe that they are, if that makes sense.

And for the famous/non-famous thing, I don't think it's really a problem. It's mostly just about whether a user's project has a lot of views and stuff.

See, orange text users are higher than you red text users.

Retired from Scratch, but just the language itself. Not the forums.

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

Nope. Untrue. It's not judgemental. Some people get front paged and don't use the forums, they're still considered 'cool'.

And look at me XD

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

Its because the people who use the forums are usually more experienced.

m44 lurks on the Forums.

He was my first friend and he sent me a spam comment about his game on one of my projects, I should report it, but it's old and I was a newbie then, so I didn't know what to do about it.

Wait: Define "lurk". LIke troll? Or just go on very, very occasionally?

At the start, you're a red user, then your rank drops throughout the post.

Fourmers are more mature, and aren't as ranty and fame-gibbing as topsiders.

And in case it isn't obvious, topsider means mainsiter.

Re: why is scratch so judgemental?

This has become more of a argument about which color text is better. It shouldn't be. All colors are equal. Now then, discuss the topic.

So stop talking about red text or orange text or blue text or whatever text, and get onto "why is scratch so judgemental?"
