Hi we are a school and I am working on our image for next school year and Scratch installs fine on Windows 7 32bit but, when installed on Windows 7 64bit the shortcut does not work. Any suggestions????
Thanks,

What shortcut are you talking about?
Also, I'll have to report your post because giving out emails is not allowed here. ^^

Hi Ron - You might want to ask that question over in our ScratchEd section, which is dedicated to educators such as yourself who might already have come up with a solution to your issue. You can also contact the Scratch Team directly at help@scratch.mit.edu.

Now giving that email seems hypocritical.
Don't worry, I know that is one of the emails we are allowed to tell.
Also- direct email link!

Sorry, but I couldn't resist pointing it out
Anyway, to stay on topic, why not try to reinstall the program?
I don't know if Scratch works on 64bit -- if it doesn't, there's plenty of VMs for Scratch at http://squeakvm.org/!

My guess is that the link for the default shortcut is just broken, since it probably points to C:\Programs Files\Scratch\Scratch.exe, (as is the default on 32 bit Windows) when on x64 systems it should point to C:\Programs Files (x86)\Scratch\Scratch.exe.

Sorry about posting my email.
Hi we are a school and I am working on our Tablet and notebook image for next school year for our students and Scratch installs fine on Windows 7 32bit which we used last year, when installed on Windows 7 64bit (which we are using next year for a few key apps) the shortcut does not work properly. I have found that changing the target to the C:\Programs Files (x86)\Scratch it does allow it to function properly but, I would prefer not to change the shortcut 400+ times post install. We currently use a system called kbox to run scripted installs so all apps are installed after the OS is installed on the HDD. Then all of the applications are silent installed to complete the image. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron
