So I had the idea that it would be fun to be able to work collaboratively in Scratch. I mean, Scratch Connections (http://scratchconnections.wik.is/) are grrrreat because they show how to have Scratch talk to other programs. Using the same method I made a Scratch game talk to a Scratch game instead of another program. The result was a multiplayer ScratchBoard pong game, and hopefully I'll be putting that up on the Scratch Connection wiki soon so everyone can play too!
But I was building in Scratch again the other day, and asking a friend for suggestions and help. This made me wonder, why can't multiple people on different computers work on a single Scratch project at the same time? Wouldn't that be fun? For example, we could help each other code, with many people we can build bigger projects, and we can have like, a sprite master who is in charge of all designing all the sprites (with input from everyone else too, of course), and a sound master who is in charge of making all the right sound clips at the right times.
So I was just wondering whether anyone else out there has had similar thoughts? Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you wished Scratch had network abilities? Do you also talk/work with your friends when you are making stuff in Scratch?
Post away! Maybe we can collect what people say here and make a proposal to the Scratch team or something. )
