Hola, guess what I've just done! I've finished the third short story in my Goldie the Superdog series. It's also the last in the story arc! I hope you're looking forward to the next one, which will be called: Teleport Terrors. And in case you didn't know, the first story arc is called Salt Sabotage. And if you forgot, the second short story ended with Goldie plummeting towards a pit of fire!
Here it is:
Goldie fell down towards the raging inferno below him… and stopped in mid-air. As it turns out, it wasn’t mid-air. It was really a glass floor. It was a safety device, only to be opened when the fire pit was in use.
“Why is that thing still there!?” shouted Alan.
“You fired the person who controls it,” one of the guards answered.
Alan’s eyes widened in anger. He reached into his pocket once again, and took out the controller. But before he could press the button, the guard who’d spoken pointed his spray can at Alan, pressed down on the button, and lit the spray coming out with his lighter! Alan jumped back to avoid being engulfed in the flames and dropped the controller. He tripped over the rail around the viewing area and fell down onto the glass floor!
A muffled noise came from underneath of Alan. Goldie pushed Alan of off him, and stood up. Alan also stood up, and backed away from Goldie.
Meanwhile, one of the still faithful guards jumped at the controller, while another one jumped at the unfaithful guard. The unfaithful guard ran, though, never to be seen again.
Goldie pushed the glass floor beneath Alan’s feet, smashing it. He fell through, but just managed to cling on to the edge of the glass. The heat from the fire began to slowly melt the underneath of Alan’s shoes.
“My shoes!” Alan cried out in despair.
“Turn off the fire if you want your leader to live!” Goldie demanded.
One of the men sitting at a control panel pressed a button, and the fire stopped. Alan pulled himself up, and Goldie jumped down through the hole. He knew that there had to be an air vent supplying the fire with oxygen somewhere. He saw it immediately, and ran towards it.
“Turn the fire back on!” Alan shouted at his men.
The man sitting at the control panel who turned it off turned it back on again. But it was too late. Goldie had already got into the vent and was away from the fire.
“Give me back my controller!” demanded Alan, almost jumped up and down in anger.
One of the men threw it down to him.
“You’re all fired!” Alan shouted hysterically, and pressed the big red button.
All the men in the building apart from Alan disappeared. He suddenly realised what he’d done.
“Err. Could someone please let me out now? Anyone? Help!”
Goldie crawled his way through the vent, pushed open the end of it, and found himself outside the building. He rolled out of the vent and onto the floor. He looked around, and realised that he was in a completely different part of London than the Salt Industries building. Goldie turned around to look at the building he’d crawled out of. It was a large building with no windows, looking very secretive.
Goldie decided that Sir Alan Salt should be arrested for all that he’s done. He walked back to Salt Industries building and climbed up the drain pipe and through the window one last time. He went over to the control panel and found a phone. Goldie picked it up and phoned the fire brigade.
“Hello, there’s a man trapped inside the Salt Industries building and there’s a fire very close to him! Come quick all or we’re all going to die! Argh!”
Goldie put the phone down, and smiled to himself. The fire brigade should come and find all the planned attacks and eventually find Alan and arrest him.
On Goldie’s journey home, he saw a fire engine drive across a bridge, heading towards Salt Industries. Suddenly, just as it got to the other side of the bridge, both ends of the bridge blew up! Fortunately, it wasn’t a busy day, so there was only one car on the bridge at the time of the explosion. The middle section of the bridge fell straight down into the water.
Goldie leapt into the water and swam as fast as he could towards the car. It was sinking fast, but the section of the bridge underneath it was fast much faster. Goldie swam down through the water as fast as he could, trying to reach the ground before the bridge. He managed to reach the bridge and pulled himself underneath it. The bridge kept going down, taking Goldie with it.
Eventually, the bridge reached the bottom of the Thames, with Goldie still underneath it. With all his strength, Goldie pushed the great lump of concrete up from on top of him and jumped as high as he could. With his little legs paddling through the water, Goldie and the bridge slowly floated up to the surface of the water.
The car floated down onto the bridge and was pushed up with it. Finally, the bridge, with the car on it, reached the surface. Goldie had to act quickly. He let go of the bridge and swam as fast as he could to the side of the bridge. He climbed on it, and slid under the car. He had to finish his plan before the car sunk under the water again.
Goldie picked up the car and threw it as hard as he could. It landed on the road, safely out of the Thames. Goldie couldn’t do anything about the broken bridge, though, so he left it, and dived back into the river, just as the broken part of the bridge sunk back into the depths of the water.
When he climbed out of the River Thames, he thought to himself about that last bomb. He hoped it was the last one, but even if it wasn’t, he was sure that the police would find all the planned attacks. Suddenly, several fire engines and police cars hurtled past him on the road, obviously going somewhere important. Goldie decided to follow.
The fire brigade stopped right next to the London Eye. They began evacuating all the people inside, while Goldie began secretly searching the entire structure for the bomb. He guessed that it would probably be in the middle of it.
When he got there he found 5 large bombs attached to the centre. They were all from Salt Industries and they all only had 32 seconds left on their countdown! Goldie grabbed one of them and tried to pull it off, but it wouldn’t budge. He tried with every last bit of his strength but somehow it was secured too well. He then tried to rip out one of the wires, but again, it was too hard.
Suddenly, he had an idea. He knew that he could absorb electricity, but could he put electricity into things. Well, there was no better time to find out. He put his hands over one of the bombs, and tried to put electricity from his own body into it. He concentrated as hard as he could, trying to force the electricity out of his hands.
Finally, he did it! Electricity surged from his hands and into the bomb. So much electricity was channelled into the bomb that the circuits were overloaded, and broke. Goldie moved along to the next one, with only 18 seconds left! He did the same thing as before, channelling as much electricity as he could into the bomb. He dealt with that bomb in only five seconds. But that only left 13 seconds to do 3 bombs.
Goldie placed one hand on one bomb and his other hand on another bomb. He again forced as much electricity as he could into the two bombs. They also stopped working. With only 6 seconds left, he placed both his hands on the one remaining bomb, and blew the circuits in only 3 seconds. Goldie had done it! He’s stopped all the bombs. He could only hope that there wouldn’t be anymore.
Suddenly, Goldie vanished into thin air!
What’s happened to Goldie? Find out next time!

Aha! I just had a great idea! An electric zap to a satellite to drag the plane back and prevent it from crashing!
But Goldie would have to get really really really powerful with his electricity powers to do that, so it would probably be in a much later story. But you likely have no idea what I'm talking about. lol

Don't tell him that or he'll be bookist against novels and quit.
But I haven't read any of these. The whole idea reminds me of that movie Bolt.

I only read the first one. I've given up going to Caleb's story topics since he won't join storynetwork anyways, I just didn't know this was one.

Each part is a short story. It's the third part in the first story arc. I'm trying to do it like those really old cliffhanger serials. If you don't know what they are look here: classiccliffhangers.com
