NONONONO!
I'm talking about, well, certain people, but they're not online often.

Seriously, I can't stand those Scratchers (I won't name them) who reckon they're IT, and suck up to the 'popular' Scratchers because they aren't 'cool' enough. They start off as cool people and then end up acting and communicating like a moody teen girl on a mood swing.
And sarcastic people. They are so irritating - you come to find out opinions and whatever and get a reply of an over-used gag or bunch of brainless sarcasm.
Heh, and hypocrites. *coughihadbetternotsaynamescough*

I'm tired of hearing that people quit and they complain because (I'm just using you guys as an example) "[removed] didn't compliment my stuff!" or "[removed] said I was lame!"
Seriously, Scratch newbies. Get over it. Not everyone on Scratch is nice and although you may not like it, they won't get banned because you flagged their comment.
No offense to anyone at this point, but some people can't take a punch.
Discuss.
EDIT: [removed] is an example.
[ It's definitely not okay to single out Scratchers as an example of this sort of thing. Please don't do so in the future. - fullmoon ]
I've taken multiple punches. When I was new, everyone sort of contradicted me. (People still do.) I felt isolated, like people were out to get me or something, but then I realized that EVERYONE gets contradicted, like I did, except me just a little more than usual. It made me feel better.
I honestly thing this thread is kind of useless because I bet all the new Scratchers have been contradicted by someone by now. But they have yet to realize that it's not their fault, it's the Scratchers.
No one deserves to be called lame, even if the person who did is really "cool" or whatever. Apparently you think it's the newbies' fault. It's not.

It's the Scratchers' fault for having different beliefs?
No
It's no one's fault, it's just a disagreement

I don't have much experince with Scratch, but I am not leaving because I have lots of friends on here.

No offense, but you might have no idea who you are telling to "grow up". What would you do if you were 8-10 years old on a new site that looked really promising, you got your hopes up only to get them smashed by someone who just wants to feel superior. I think that's why so many people quit. Scratch has represented a great and fun learning opportunity for a long time, but when stuff like that happens it ruins the experience for lots of people. Scratch shouldn't be the place kids have to learn to "grow up".

Go on youtube, they knock you down just for starting a Yo Mamma off or flooding a channel. I flooded the channel because of no replies. I actually helped somebody who was rudely knocked down for telling people about his walkthroughs get avenged and won.

Scratch friendliness compared to Youtube friendliness is like Disney service compared to Motel6 service...

Like that kid who only cared about Japan for the anime? The one LTL yelled at?

Different people act differently. Do not complain back, and don't stoop to their level.

I mean, I have pretty bad projects but do I quit because of that? No. For people like me, there's the forums. And recently someone called me a really bad insult on here, but did I complain? No. I reported it, flagged it, and moved on with my life. I understand that some 9-year-olds may over-react, but I'm only one year older and can cope with it, which is not that hard to do. Once you understand that many of these bullying people are not scary in real life and that a bunch of pixels won't hurt you, it's much easier to live your Scratching life, and even your real life.

Hey, it's not the New Scratchers' fault! It's the mean people who call others lames' fault!

Ya thanks for insulting 9-year-olds. Maturity doesn't measure by age. Please don't measure maturity by age.

I'm overly empathetic, so I really watch what I say on here. And slamming people (especially new scratchers) with sort of mean comments won't get you any popularity, so why do it? I mean, it's OK to have a different belief, but you don't have to slam other people about it. Sometimes I get slammed, and it's hard, because I know the person who did it on Scratch. But for new members, they have no idea who you are, so it's like getting slammed by someone you don't even know.
I'm using the word "slammed" because I think it's the only way to describe how people feel after it happens.

If maturity was measured by age, that 10-year old would be imature. The person is not measuring maturity by age.

I'm using a simple example and not implying that all 9 year olds make poor decisions, but some do.
