Well, this forum is really meant as a supplement to the programming website - it's less about chatting and more about discussing your programs and getting help with them. However, if you're active and friendly, you'll get upgraded to a "Scratcher" before long (right now you're a "New Scratcher"). That status will allow you to post in a "Miscellaneous" forum, so it's not completely programming-oriented: that forum allows general discussion, but of course it has to be appropriate and if it's political or looks like it'll cause great arguments, it will get closed.
Anyhoo, welcome to the forums! I'm sure you'll have a blast.
This topic should go in "New Scratch Members," not "Show and Tell," though. I'll move it for you.

lol. Anyway, welcome to Scratch! I think making a post just saying it's your first post doesn't really provide us with much info about you. What kind of projects do you want to make or have made?

Hi...I am relatively new to Scratch programming but am an experienced C programmer in the Unix environment. I am developing a tutorial for a Scratch class I teach of 3rd grade through 8th TAG kids. I want to do some animation in the program but then link to an online video with an embedded URL link. Can someone show me some code samples that could do this? Thanks in advance, Norm Church

I explore websites a lot, so I discovered them within a week. Took a bit longer to relize that I could post, though. I'm a bit slow...

As some people will know, scratch is MOSTLY for programming, but the forums are kinda for news and all that stuff- unless its in the "misc" category....then it will be things that are unrelated to scratch..... well anyway, it still says your a new scratcher so i'm guessing you still recently joined.... so welcome to scratch!
