Well, if you knew of this, then this thread would be of no value. If It was 2012 currently, this thread would make sense, questioning why it wasn't out yet. But since it's still 2011, you should wait a little with this question.

Just so you know, most people are guessing it will be in the summer.
Also, they're holding mod elections then, so maybe they're expecting the community to grow then, with the release of 2.0?

I don’t think you understand the point of this topic. It’s not about how I’m complaining that it’s not out yet, it’s that I’m asking if it can be narrowed down. Because obviously, it’s not out yet, and it said sometime 2011, so I was wondering around when more exactly.

There's really no way to narrow it down because it's still a work in progress. 2011 is just the anticipated year that Scratch 2.0 is expected to be released assuming all goes well. If there's a snag along the way, there could be delays and, who knows? the date might change to sometime later in the future.

On a related subject: The Scratch Team publishes progress reports here. It doesn't really narrow down the anticipated release date, but should give an indicator on how much the Scratch Team has accomplish and from that you can gauge more or less if Scratch 2.0 is closer to being released.
