Re: Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

Osama Bin Laden topic and Holocaust topic right next to each other... and what a few days ago there was that United Survivors of Homicide topic. Why so many borderline topics recently? (insert correct smiley here - can't decide between  tongue  or  hmm  lol.)

Re: Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

I heard, and not one fiber of my whole body mourns his death.

My 22 year old cousin died in the 9/11 attack.

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.

Celebrating a human's death is still wrong, no matter who it is.

He as taken thousands of civillian lives, and was the mastermind behind Al Qaeda, who have killed many innocent people. He deserved it.  hmm

In my opinion, it's like murders. If you take a life on purpose, you deserve to lose your own. Jail won't stop criminals being evil. And second chances are pointless, as the same will happen again.

So I'm not celebrating his death, but I'm pleased that finally after 10 years, justice has been done to the families who had loved ones stolen from them.

It's such a weird feeling. Usually when someone dies, you're supposed to feel bad for them... but when that person is the most wanted man in the world, what are you supposed to do?

Anyway, hopefully that's a step toward the end of this war and finally some peace.

I agree that the feeling is such a unsual one. When I heard about it this morning, I was extremely happy about his death, and then I realised that I was celebrating the death of a person, and it felt horrible. It is such an odd and singular situation...

But I do agree, hopefully this does take us in the direction towards peace at long last.

I don't think that murder should result in death. They should just be like brought to some sort of rehabilitation thing.

But they have taken a life, and imagine how the deceased's family must feel knowing that their family-member's killer is still out there, not truly paying for what they have done...

Re: Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

To be honest I don't think "justice is done" to the families of victims because their killer has been killed. That's a very cruel kind of revenge that I do not understand

I, too, believe that no death of a human should be celebrated
I find it disturbing that people are cheering here

*murderer.  He's not just an ordinary killer, he was a murderous terrorist. ^^

We can feel better that evil people are not alive anymore, but celebrating is not good.
This reminds me of a Jewish custom on Passover, during the Seder, the Meal: When the Ten Plagues are recited, some wine is removed from the cup, as people should not be celebrating death.

Re: Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

It seemed weird for a second when I first heard it. But then I just started thinking how much better of a place the world could become now. Don't get me wrong, terrorism is not going to stop, but this is a big blow. All those who died in 9-11 have now been avenged in my mind.

Also, I loved listening to the fans at the Phillies game chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!"  smile

No flame yet.

But first of all, I'm beginnin to doubt he's dead. If the American government is so brilliant, why did they drown the body? They claimed it was Muslim tradition, but then it's supposed to happen 24 hours after death. We, as the American people have no proof whatsoever he's said. Don't trust the government. Just cause they said they tested DNA doesn't mean they did. Give menproof America.

Second, 911 truth movement makes more sense than the s#%* the government feeds us. Osama was innocent.

Third, I never believed in death penalty. What about the natural rights we argued about with Britain? Do foreigners not get them?

Hope I gave you something to think about.

You know, you're kind of trying to make it political by bringing the government into this. They couldn't have afforded to do it 24 hours after death because there could have been an attempted attack to steal back the body, and that wasn't going to happen.
And this is what I'm gonna get every day at school for the next week...

Look at some of the pictures from the house he was in. Check out the blood on the floor. Is that physical proof to you?
