As part of our experiments with Flash, we are now releasing a beta version of a Flash player that you can use instead of the Java player. Please let us know what you think.  If you find any bugs, please report them on this thread.

Notes on Flash:
The new (beta) Scratch player requires version 10.0 or later of the Adobe Flash Player. Adobe Flash Player is free, comes pre-installed on Windows and Macintosh computers, and is used by many websites including YouTube. Chances are you already have it. However, if you are testing the new Scratch player and nothing happens when you view a project (i.e. you just see a picture of that project), you might need to install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player. You can download that here. If you want to find out which version of Adobe Flash Player is currently installed in your browser, visit this page.

If you can't install Flash on your computer, you can revert to using the default Java-based Scratch player to view projects on the website.

UPDATE  2011-02-23: The full screen issue has been fixed. Please let us know if this is not the case.

The flash player is fine with most of my projects but sometimes it glitches such as falling through walls.

Re: Beta Flash player

For the most part, it's great. Just when I wanted an eraser pen in my game, There were blurbs of light gray on it, making it not fully white. Other than that, its AWESOME.

GENERATION 33: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment

Re: Beta Flash player

Overall, it works better than the Java version.

My suggestion would be to make the Flash version the default, but users can switch it back to Java if they want to.

Re: Beta Flash player

Con el reproductor flash las variables quedan amontonadas unas sobre otras y no se visualizan segun estan situadas en el escenario

It's nice, but there's too many glitches. In my 16-bit Four Corners, you go right thru walls.

Re: Beta Flash player

Will 2.0 still use the same format for saving?

And will WeDo's and PicoBoards still work.

Re: Beta Flash player

Hi

I've never posted any comment on this topic.
I  translate the text  with Google Translation

I saved in my gallery a project called For the people of Japan [3]
For the people of Japan [3]

When I click on the green flag with the new flash player , the ghost effect doesn't work.
When I  switch back to the default Java player , the ghost effect  works.

Sincerely

Re: Beta Flash player

When you upload a variable in large form that is hidden, and in the script it shows that variable, it isn't in large form.

If you want to embed them onto your website, just make them an applet (click "embed" under Link This Project on the project you want to embed and you'll get the code)
