Manga is a word used to describe graphic comics in Japan. Usually, anime refers to television. Anime a lot of times is an adaptation of a comic (i.e. Bleach, Naruto). Those are all adaptations of books. Most people refer to both as anime because they're so used to calling it that. I agree, you can't just mash the two together. they're both different in their way. It's like Garfield and the Garfield Show. The original is the comic, the TV adaptation is Garfield Show. You don't call them the same thing.

Fullmetal Alchemist. Bar none. Even the English dubs (which are notorsiously bad in anime) are really well done.

I have it because I was a huge Pixar geek when I was 5. (And I still am to an extent.)
