The spell check does not accept "recognized" or "recognize" as the correct spelling. I am unaware of any English-American differences for this word, but it does accept "recognise(d)". I looked up the word(s) in a (book) dictionary and an online dictionary and they all used "z".

What spell check are you talking about? I never heard of any spell check on Scratch...

That's just your browser I think, there's no spellcheck in the forums.

+1. This seems like misc to me though.
Let's see. Bold is good, underlined is an error:
Recognized Recognize Recognise Recognised

In Firefox, if you right-click in a Text-Area box, there is an option at the bottom named "Languages" select English / United States. That should fix your problem. Europe and United State spellings are different.

I don't have a spell check in my copy of Firefox 4.

Just cause a person is a new scratcher, does not mean that they are allowed to keep this.
It actually means that this should be closed until the person is a scratcher, for it IS a misc and cannot be permitted here.

This is more likely to belong in "Troubleshooting" which is the most fitting, even though it isn't part of the site of Scratch, I think people should still be able to ask for help here.
Though something that has been suggested, is another category for extra help with other things, like learning new programming languages.

I think he was just pointing out that he's a New Scratcher and therefore can't post in Miscellaneous as scimonster suggested.
+1 to it being your browser
