The language filter system is a bit overly sensitive when detecting bad words. I wonder what string of letters in "woodpecker" triggered the filter system.

Gee, I can't imagine.
But in all seriousness, the language filter could use a little work. Currently, it tends to cause a lot of confusion.

What word in woodpecker?? I'm going to go try that out...Em, wish me luck... I hope I don't get banned or something

Really? You shouldn't be able to post any of them...

Hm! That's odd.

"skyscraper" works for me too...
Maybe the Scratch Team changed something about the filter?
Offline
Maybe they've added a whitelist?

Yes, I suppose so - I can post "grape" now. Strangely, I still can't post "grapes" or "woodpecker"... maybe they forgot to add them to the whitelist?
And I still haven't gotten a message that reprimands me for my 'inappropriate' comments... something has changed.
EDIT: No, I got them now...

Take all of the bad words out, and make a system to check if the word is in this word list.

Yeah. That happened to me.

Bump!
Sev417 found that "trapezium" is filtered too...

I saw a problem like this before. It is either for the middle four letters in grapes, or the phrase altogether (think about boys)...
You had to point it out.

Yet it doesn't censor actual bad words. this topic is also being derailed by random posts

I was on a project that had a song that I found was funny, which was about grapes, so I put a comment saying this: I LIKE GRAPES!! I came about an hour later with a message, and it said someone had replied to the comment, however also saying that it could not display the comment, because the Scratch system filter had automatically marked it has inappropriate
I have the same problem...it started with "SONIC LABRYTHIN IS TERRIBLE!" by sonicbub, then i tryed commenting back saying "i know, it sucks. i couldn't get past the first BOSS" , then the scratch site said "Your comment reply "i know, it sucks. i couldn't get past the first BOSS" in Hamemories was not posted because the system considered it inappropriate automatically.
Sometimes this automatic censorship is incorrect and we apologize if this is the case. We remind you to use appropriate language for all ages, please read the Terms of Use"
