Flash CS5.

Mac and Linux users:
I have not abandoned you! (I am one of you). I'm still looking for a way to export this as a screensaver for both platforms.

Will this work?

Can you at least upload the flash file (and the rest of the stuff)?

I've tried that, it doesn't work on Snow Leopard.  sad

Here is the swf: http://j.mp/gIB85E
And here's the AIR installer: http://j.mp/hO6zKo

I have computers running Windows, OS X, and Ubuntu at home but I primarily use the Mac.

Re: A Scratch screensaver

Once you get this working on Linux, could I package it as the default screensaver for the Linux distribution I'm working on creating? It would be perfect.

Yeah, definitely, but getting it running on Linux is proving tricky.

Re: A Scratch screensaver

Hey, fullmoon, could you possibly make an icon, so the ScratchSaver app looks better?

Here it is, I tried my best.

Change the icon because it looks ugly and pixelated right now.

Re: A Scratch screensaver

This is great! It doesn't work as a screensaver in Linux but I was able to open it and see it in action. I wish there was a way to keep it active even if the mouse moves. Also I would suggest creating a page on the wiki for this type of tools and mention it there. Finally, you should publish the source code of the app so others can modify it and also so people feel more comfortable knowing that there is no dangerous code behind. You could use assembla.com, github.com or code.google.com to store your code and the compiled version.

I might set this up in one of the machines we have in the lab!

Re: A Scratch screensaver

Sourceforge.net could also work for hosting. I don't think Flash can be used as a screensaver in Linux, unless, as I have said, you can interface with XScreensaver. I have no idea how you would do that though.

Well, now that you mention it...
Here you will find the source and a prettier version of the app that lets you click the thumbnails to visit the project. Once we get Scratch 2.0, it'll be fun to see if I can get the project to play inside the screensaver!  smile

I think you should make the escape key the exit to the ss.
It may already be though, I just don't know cause I'm on my iPhone.
I'm thinking you should make it so that you choose which project's stas you want to see, by clicking, and by clicking the picture in the stats page, you go to that link.

You can already use Esc to quit. I like your idea about making it more interactive, but I'll have to find a way to balance that and the current automatic cycling which makes it screensaver-y.
