There's a number of things that can cause this message.  Here's a few that I can come up with: You might be out of disk space, you might be trying to save to a removable disk that is not mounted, you might be trying to save to a directory where you do not have permissions.

Did you recently change something on your computer that might have caused this problem?  Like, is it a new computer or did you just install a new version of Scratch?

What directory (or folder) is it trying to save your project into?  It will show you that at the top of the Save screen.  It might be trying to save to some area on the disk where you don't have permission to save stuff.  Try saving to the Desktop and see if that works and let us know how that works out.  That might help us get to the solution to your problem.
