A Story I Wrote
Another attempt at writing a story. Enjoy!
Chapter One
My friend, Josh, tells me, "Everyone is afraid of something.". I believe he's right. Everyone is. Wether it's clowns, aliens, hights, or even certain colors. Why do I believe this you say? Well, let me start from the beginning.

It was possibly the warmest day of summer. July 12th, I think. Tomorrow is the 13th, my birthday. Just my luck. I'm not that superstitous, but Josh can be.He probably won't come to the party just for that reason. Oh well.
My dad comes up to me, "So, Alex, who all did you invite for tomorrow?"
"Josh, Zack, Tyler, Brian, and Sam," I reply.
"How many re coming?"
All of them, but Josh is a little scared about the number 13.
My dad winces, but I don't ask him why. He does that every time I mention 13.
"Your friend Josh is right to be scared."
"Why?"
He doesn't reply, just walks away.
I ask Mom about it.
"Well, he believes that if someone turns 13 on the 13th, like you, their soul will be possesed by the Devil for 13 days. Once a boy named Cody had it done to him. For 13 days, his body was slumped over a couch. When that time period ended, he went completely insane. He rambled on about fear and dead people, then got sent to the Institute for the Mentally Insane. Never saw him since then."
My mouth opened in fear and surprise, then my Mom saw it and quickly said,
"Just don't think about it. Just enjoy tomorrow"

I like it, maybe you could add more detail about Cody and what happened to make it creepier. Then again having a quick description can be good too/

And sort of off topic, my friend became 10 on the 10th of the 10th of 2010.

I'm not sure I like it... it just seems to overplayed to me, if I would call it that.
