bigger uploading space for the website

i think the maximum for the projects is 10mb which means most projects online that are really big lag to much. is it possible to change this in scratch 2.0

Re: bigger uploading space for the website

The maximum upload size is 10mb. Part of the main problems were Java memory problems and server space. Scratch 2.0 will be in Flash, so the Java problem would be worked out, but I think that 10mb is honestly plenty. Most of the time a project is that big because of sounds, which aren't totally necessary.

10 KB is about the size of several sprites and scripts.

I wrote a guide here with tips on reducing your project's size - maybe it'll help for now  big_smile

Limitations in Java is the main reason for the 10 MB limit; however, there has been talk on changing this limit for Scratch 2.0 since the online player is going use Flash instead.

The question now is to find a suitable limit since server space is limited. In the meantime, you can use Chrischb's guide on reducing project size.  smile
