What would be the best project in the game category, animation category, art category, etc.?
Please give one of each. i'm curious.

A game with some form of scripting that is either rarely used or shows understanding of programming a project. Signs of effort and care, as well as polish (adding little things to complete the overall effect and presentation of the project) are also very important, though polish is not quite as important as the other virtues.
As for what kind of game, any kind would do really, in fact I guess it doesn't have to be a game, it just has to demonstrate understanding or mastery of Scratch, which would be easiest to show through the complexity of a game.

For games and animation, something equal to what you would see on newgrounds.com, quality or entertainment wise. As for art, something professional looking that does not use the scratch art editor.
So games that would qualify would be, some of boltbait's stuff, griven by bentheneighbor, archery challenge.
Can't think of any animation or art that qualify.

Thanks so much for putting my game in your signature!

Art: Not Applicable because the "art" category is filled with still anime/anthro/doodles- that-look-like-they-were-made-by-a-3-year-old art, not art/demo programs that require programming skill like it's supposed to be.

Something new. Something exiting. Something that is not the stuff Scratch gives us now.
Look at some old projects. You'll see what I mean.

Yeah, art nowadays is like wolves.
MetharQuxid is amazing at it, so I agree. RHY and m44 are legends.
