Scratch should put flash quality drawings on the next version of scratch and not making the blocky ones we see. Also they should make a feature where you can switch it blocky version or the smooth flash version.so I want to have flash but it cost's a lot of money and Please, please, please scratch I want to make smooth lines when I draw and not the blocky ones I see in those paint programs that comes with the windows software. Thanks =-)

You can import sprites from flash, and there's a free trial version. But I think scratch will only ever have the blocky sprites, because flash quality sprites take up more room (and scratch projects are big enough already). Good idea, though.

Flash uses vector artwork, which means it draws everything dynamically (think pen tool) using sets of numbers. This means that lines can be smooth and infinitely scalable.

Although scratch can't have vector graphics I still think that the image maker could be better. Smaller pixels, some special imaging effects. Right now it's really bare bones.

I always thought vector images took up less space than other image files, just because it doesn't have to store every single bit of data for the entire area of the drawing. I think the pixels work great for a simple tool like Scratch. 480*360 is easy to use and helps keep images the right size.

The problem with the scratch program is that by uploading the java, the actually game is including every image of every script I THINK. If the team were to make one file for just the game/video which used text instead of images, and then had a downloadable version with images, it would take less memory to play the games, increasing speed. Also a version of Flash in which you could change FPS to make the game look a little higher quality could help, and yes, decreasing the pixel size by about 50-75 percent would be nice.

Scratch doesn't upload the images of the block scripts. That would be silly.
