Infinite Reply's

Why can't replying go down for ages? some people reply on 2 asking something... guess what? you can't answer it...

Re: Infinite Reply's

The layout of the website becomes a bit strange when infinite replies are allowed. I think it would require a lot of work to have a good way of representing infinite replies. My guess is most people are OK with only 2 levels of reply.

Re: Infinite Reply's

if it could go forever then the page would be about a zillion pixels wide and a zillion pixels up and down

Re: Infinite Reply's

When having actual conversations with the reply feature, I see a conversation structure like this emerge:

fullmoon: Yo sup
  user: Hey
    fullmoon: where's my toaster?
  user: I don't know
fullmoon: don't make this hard, man, I want my toaster!
user: I don't have your toaster!
fullmoon: Real funny, kid. Now hand it over.

and so on. It actually makes conversations easier to read. The only problem with the two-reply system comes when you reply to person A's comment, then person B leaves a reply on your reply, and you can't directly address their comment. Also, having conversations this way also gives several of my projects many, many more comments than they would normally have.

I can already say that I have problems with it if more than one person is replying on the same comment because where would one answer?

Re: Infinite Reply's

Recursion, this topic has stopped its conversation over 3 years ago. There are even newer topics discussing better suggestions for this. Try not to post on old topics unless you really really need to. Which you shouldn't, but just in case you really do.

Also, try to make your posts relevant. Your post doesn't [make sense and] have anything to do with this topic.
