Encouraging Respect

You guys know how I almost left for good? I have been very impressed lately. The level of cursing has gone down, and people are being very nice. Post your thoughts on the topic of behavior improvement on scratch.

Re: Encouraging Respect

you get a lot of peoples cursing at you? that sucks, you'll get a lot of people angry at you when you do publicity stunts, I've had I think 3, the first time I said I was going to quit, by the second I learned the fact that unless you're quitting to switch to a different game making program you will come back, I get depressed a decent

Scratch is not considered a "game making program" because it's a programming language! You can make more than games. Game Making Programs are like Sploder and Game Maker where there's limited capabilities, no variables, etc.

Gamemaker has variables. It can do more things than scratch. From what i see,Its more complicated than scratch.Sploder, yah its a gamemaker,Nothing to really do on there.

Well, that's true, but the name kind of made me think that it was a Game Maker. It's got a much different interface, and is actually about the same level as Scratch. Are there arrays? I don't know, but I'd doubt it.

Re: Encouraging Respect

Game maker is WAY more capable than scratch. It has mulitdimentional arrays and you can even make 3d games with it.

Please, let's not get into name-calling in the forums!  Pengie-Penga, I am very concerned if you are being attacked.  You should try flagging mean comments and using the Ignore list if necessary.  If you are still having troubles, use the Contact Us link a the bottom of the screen to talk to the Scratch Team directly.    We want to keep Scratch a friendly place!
