Re: Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

I just realized.

Remember how I talked about importing sprites from other GBA games? Well, we'd have to overwrite some existing sprites to do so. However, I found this:

Wikipedia wrote:

Generally speaking, a ROM hacker cannot add content to a game, but merely change existing content. This limit can be overcome through ROM expansion, whereby the total size of the ROM image is increased, making room for more content and a larger game. The difficulty in doing this varies depending on the system for which the game was made. For example, expanding an NES ROM may be difficult or even impossible due to the mapper used by the game. For example, if a mapper allows 16 ROM banks and all of them are used, expanding the ROM further is impossible without somehow converting the game to another mapper, which could be easy or extremely difficult. On the other hand, expanding a Super NES game is (relatively) straightforward. To utilize the added space, parts of the game code have to be modified or re-written so the game knows where to look. The Game Boy Advance is generally considered the easiest to expand.

big_smile

This isn't necessarily related to importing sprites, but this means more so "We can make really huge games."

IKR?

An average DS Pokémon game is 100-200 MB. This could be much more than that if we wanted.

Ironic as it may be, when wiimaster was supporting my leader ideas, he didn't change the names, which he said should be changed.  lol

Re: Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

"What, who are you?"

"I am Victor, the Champion-"

"Victor? What the heck were people thinking when they made you the Champion?"

"Please kid, let me finish. I am Victor, the Belumn Champion-"

"Of the failure name competition."

"...YOU SUCK, KID."

tongue  Might not be the best name for a Champion...

Re: Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

You know Blake is the name of a Dark-type Elite Four member in Hoenn, right?

Ooh... the Champion's name can be Nel or Neil, which mean Champion.
