Damaged File?

I went to open a file that I had been working on for weeks and when I did, this was the EXACT message:

Could not read project; file may be damaged:
(key not found)

I do not have any idea as of what that means, and I'd like some help, it took a long time to make the project and it did not have many sprites. It was more of a script project, but I've had some with more and they work. I don't have many files on my compter, so that cannot be the problem. I have tried many times before to open it and the same message comes up. I want the file back, but I'm afraid it might be gone? Is there any way to get it back? Like, to fix it? That would be splendid, thank-you.

Re: Damaged File?

It sounds to me like the file got corrupted somehow. To be sure though, try loading another project. If it loads that one fine, it's probably just that file that got messed up, and there's not much you can do.  hmm

That is what it means. If you had a backup or older version, try that. Unfortunately, there is no way to get it back.
