Side Scrolling Neighborhood Issue

I'm pretty new to programing and I've been trying to make a side scrolling function for a neighborhood I'm working on for my game. I want to make it so that when my character touches another sprite in another area it makes the main character(my character) go backwards as though walking forwards and the next house to come in when the current house shown goes away. I've come up with an alternative way to do this, but I'd really like to know if there's a simple way to do this. Here's what I've tried:

http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?fid=http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?fid=31#req_message31#req_message (it would be touching a camouflage sprite to go along with my cobblestone street)http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?fid=31#req_message
(House switch 1, a brodcast I would use to activate my sequence)

This didn't work. I hope there's a solution. Thanks!  smile

Re: Side Scrolling Neighborhood Issue

I am not really sure what you mean, but if you want help making a side scrolling game, go to file, open, examples, games, scrolling demo.  Or, you could download a project I made called scrolling Mario kart.  cool
