I finally snapped. My iPod is uncooperative and I need to know the best and most cheapest Android tablet I can find to work on saving for. (I almost did break the thing in half just a minute ago out of pure anger)
Why? I'm sick and tired of they tiny keyboard, I make so may mistakes it isn't funny (being online is 75% of the reason I am on it). The battery life on the thing is pitiful, I can barely make it 1 1/2 hrs on a full charge. It's as slow as molasses, and it isn't jailbroken.
Anyone?

You can hack a Nook into an Andriod tablet. That's about as cheap as you can get for the hardware. An Amazon search for Android tablet brings up some cheap things.

The charge thing will happen with Android, too. Rechargeable batteries start to get weaker and weaker...

I need an upgrade from 2G anyway...
@urhungry You may get a 4hr charge, but combine a heavy 3D gameplay usage for a year, internet for another, and a combo of the 2 for another half. That will kill that battery like no other. It's only good for music (which is ironic, as that what an iPod should just be for). However, I have grown to used to having internet and all of that on 1 device. Don't think I could go back. Thanks for the list however.

I have a 4 hour battery life, and I have gotten pretty good at the keyboard. Plus I only use it for games and music.
So I'm set.

doesn't battery life decrease if you charge before it's empty?
like it thinks however much it charged it not empty is how much it always needs to put in, so when it is empty or whatever it's bad. get it?

Are you kidding? Back in the day I had one of those cheap, screen less, 1GB iPods. Charge it for half an hour, listen to it in my bed, fall asleep, 9 hours later and its still playing!
What cheap crack are you guys using?

That's because it was screenless. A 3.5" screen, and a capacitive touch screen at that, sucks a lot of battery life. That's not to mention the increased demand by the processor, gaming, WiFi, etc. Of course a little player like the shuffle has long battery life.
If you want a good, cheap Android tablet, the Nook Color is your best option. It's only ~$250, and if you root it, the possibilities are endless. There's even a build of Android 3.0 Honeycomb for it that (sort of) works.
