I like both Vista and XP, but Vista will be overshadowed by Microsoft's new OS, Windows 7, coming out in 2010.

Yes. Well, technically, yes. Just click on the search LINK, which is close enough to searching directly in the start menu. But Vista has been proved to be a really bad system. XP is better, and 2000 is the best. Microsoft has gone downhill.

Again, I lol'ed at all these Vista haters. Vista only runs slow etc. if your computer is not powerful enough. Any modern day laptop, even a 1.86 ghz single core that I had for around a year ran Vista fine. The GUI is a lot better, and are you joking about the security problems? If I could just name all the Macs I've gotten into...my god, just listen to all those ways to elevate permissions thru SUM. Don't give me that Open Firmware stuff, there are millions of ways to hack that too. Firewire cables.
Mhm I still think Snow Leopard is gonna rock Vista hard. It's going to be much more stable and faster than the current OS.
Macs are less customizable, more vulnerable, but I would have to agree that they are a bit more user-friendly. But seriously...the only reason Macs have so little viruses comparatively is because no one is going to write a good virus so that they can infect say a million users when writing one for Windows can infect say 90 million.
I would have to say that Linux is the best OS by itself. But when you consider the lack of apps and lack of professional support, it really isn't that great.  sad

Hard Drive: I have two, they're around 150 GB each.
Monitor: 1280x1024, Flatscreen + Stereo Speakers.
RAM: 2 GB (Upgraded from 512 MB)
Processor: Dunno, I only know it's Dual Core.
Graphics card: I think it's an nVidia 7200, with about 512 MB.
Sound card: I don't know.
Other stuff: Stereo Subwoofers with adjustable bass, Laser mouse, Broadband modem, and a LG 22x DVD Rewriter. I used to have a headphone set with a microphone, but my brothers broke it ¬¬

I'm not really sure of some components, such as the Graphics card.

There's this worldwide virus going around. It's a mystery worm.

But it only infects Microsoft Windows. It controls your computer by guessing passwords (aka. brute-force hacking).

Macs are the best way to go for this time.

Re: scratch's top computer! (that's if you know it's stats)

Macs are good for the environment and cool-looking but they aren't that good. My Dad brought one 1 and a 1/2 weeks ago and its already about 3rd of the speed it was. Plus they can get viruses (about 3 I think), and just to stop them you have to pay £80 I think. The Apple stuff that comes with it gets rid of the rest.

Plus I have a PC and all the hardware is amazing (DELL XPS420, but the 430 just came out and is much better +graphics +moniter +hard drive +disk drive +memory -cost), but Vista ruins it. It's the slowest OS ever released (which is why netbooks tend to run XP), but most people think it's better. Because I do quite prof. work for my age, I can see the difference. WHEN IS OS7 COMING OUT?
