This will sound stupid but...
What's the point of MineCraft?
I've played the online version, but I don't truely understand what it is.

A very bad graphical version of many other games on the internet.
My site Find someone post count. Click posts under username. Find number of pages. Times that by 40 for min and 60 for max and you have a rough estimate of post count.

The point and awesomeness in/of Minecraft is that it is a sandbox game where you can build ANYTHING. The classic/online version is bad, but it was last updated in Oct. 09 (I think). The paid version is ALOT better, you have at the very least, 50 people here on Scratch that can tell you that.
You have 2 options:
1. Buy it, realize the awesomeness, and get addicted to it, like alot of us.
2. Avoid it at all costs, because it will take your life.

I thought it was pretty fun...until I realized I would be spending hours upon hours trying to get my very large underground mall/mine (with a natural waterfall) to work.
Hm...and I haven't played because I would also spend way to many hours playing it. I get bored of the same old, "Dig, Dig, Dig, Break" thing fast.

And yeah - I have the attention-span of a dying goldfish so I don't think I'd manage well on Minecraft.

Ok.... maybe you played classic, which SUCKS!! If you really want to enjoy you must play MC Beta. It is a survival sandbox game. It has electric wiring, monsters, real mining, crafting tools and furniture, and other stuff. The MineCraft most people talk about in Scratch is the BETA one.
Are you doing a collab and need a 24/7 TeamSpeak channel? Contact me... somewhere. =P

what is this
actually play or watch some stuff on beta.
if you want to be a storylined, closed-in, boxed-off, linear game noob, go ahead and forget abotu us.
you can make anything in this game, build everything, go exploring in an almost infinite world, and collect resources in exciting adventures in minecraft. so yeah, have fun with whatever you consider good.
and aside from that, i don't see what reasons you have to HATE it (for the ones actually complaining)
