Well, I should say that it's also not just about intelligence, but also wisdom.  There is a difference.  Just watch Funniest Home Videos for about three minutes.  You'll see about ten examples of stupidity combined with foolery.  People have lost a ton of moral guidence, which usually leads to a neglectance of school/family/community/etc. which is really ruining the human race.  Sorry if that was slightly over your head, but I thought it was understandable, so hopefully it wasn't.
