Hey, I'm ZaRiTo. I own a short stories Gellery where I review others' writing and post the ranks in the description. Useually, it works perfectly, but recently it added an outrageous amount of spaces between paragraphs when I updated it. I was annoyed, but I figured I'd made the mistake, not the cpmputer. I fixed the error and clicked the "OK" button. The same thing happened! I usually keep three spaces between stories to avoid confusion; however, I wondered what would happen if I stuck with one. This time, the changed number of spaces was not six, but two. Now, obviously, 3X2 = 6 and 1X2 = 2, so the number of spaces doubles every time. I clicked it a few times, and found this to be undoubtably true. I accidentally clicked it one time too many, though, and it deleted everything except the first two paragraphs, leaving a tower of spaces for me to clean up.... I'm using Internet Explorer, and I'm extremely frustrated. Does anyone know what might cause this extremely odd problem to occur?

Hmmm. That's strange...is this something new that just started happening? I'm not aware of any code changes in the Gallery description area recently.
Please include a link to the gallery so I can take a look.

I fixed it, but the problems are still there. It appears I was wrong; it really multiplies the spaces by three. The link to the Gallery is right here: Short Stories: Writing and Criticism.
Notice how there are three spaces everywhere I intended to use only one. As for the code, I believe it could be that I am using a new version of Internet Explorer, as my computer crashed and I'm using my laptop. Firefox isn't an option as I can't edit a description at all while using it. Thanks for your willingness to help

Oh yeah, and Windows XP SP2. Not sure what Internet Explorer version, though.

Please, help me! Is there a way around this?

Just took all the extra lines out of your text in my text editor and pasted the text back in (using Firefox 4) and everything looks good. I then did a manual save of the text again using Firefox 4 and it still looks good. I'm starting to think it's an IE issue.
If you look under Help -> About in your browser, it should tell you the IE version...I'd really like to know what it is
So you've tried Firefox but have a different problem with it? That's surprising, FF has been pretty solid for me...you might want to try another install and see if that works.

Sometimes random spaces are put in my posts. That's because I have a half brocken keyboard and the spacebar is very sensitive.

Yeah. I'm going to do that the next time I use my laptop; I'm using my home computer and everything's fine. I was probably using a REALLY old IE version.

It used to happen to me too when I was using IE7 and 8.
Every time I wanted to update a gallery description I had to use Safari.
Now I have Chrome, and it's all fine (Chrome FTW)
This isn't 'recent', it's been happening for ages. The only way to fix the problem for me was change browser. Maybe you could try that too? Chrome is great once you get used to it (which doesn't take long)

Oh I hate it when that happens!
