Does anyone know how to make a saving script? I really need one for my game. I've been jumbling together tons of Scratch blocks for hours and still nothing. Is a saving script even possible? I'm pretty sure if it is it's advanced stuff, so that's why I posted it here.

A saving script isn't possible. It's better to make a password system.

*sigh* I'm trying to make a game like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. How would you be able to save the stats and money? It's not like nomatter how many times you play the same day you'll get the same items and money. Guess that won't be possible. But how do saving scripts work? I've seen people use them.

You can try this. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Tutorial_Maker/190010
That won't work. I need it so that you can leave the page, come back, and your progress will be saved. I think that's only possible with more advanced scripting engines. I think I should learn C++ or something.

Saving data is impossible, all other saving scripts that you have seen don't work. Sorry.
The only thing that would work is if you download the project and save it manually.

Actually there is a way you can sort of save. Have the player download the project, when they want to save their game, stick all the values you need in a list and tell them to save the project on their computer. It can't be saved online but it would work fine offline as long as the project stays on the computer.

People will just max out their stats and change the variables so they have the legendaries.
On other websites, there are working saves. Such as Nitrome. You can leave the page, come back, and the level you're on is saved. I know it's with other programs, but what programs?

Passwords are the way to go.
Heres a project that uses passwords http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mkolpnji/110622

The program that Nitrome uses is called flash and flash can save data to cookies. Flash requires practice to use though and it isn't free.
You can't compare programs made with flash and programs made with scratch to each other. Scratch doesn't have a lot of features that other languages have.

Or use the simple way and use Jens's Lists and Files. (Scratch 1.2.1 Source Code)
The thing is, you can't upload the project, but you can turn it into an EXE that comes with the zip folder.
