This is needed. Images wouldn't have to be BMPs and sounds wouldn't have to be MP3s when you export them. Sometimes BMP reduces quality and MP3 doesn't always work in Scratch. I like to save images as PNGs but Scratch only does BMP.

I actually don't remember, but I did it for saving script images.

Oh, nice idea! Whenever I want a screenshot of a project, it always ends up a little (but noticably) darker than the original.

I'm guessing that with Flash it really won't be a problem at all to export as any image type. Therefore: support.
