Hi, I'm fairly new to scratch, but working on some great projects,
While in the midst of one of these, I discovered that one of the sprite sheets that I had gotten from the spriter's resource, had "best fitted" itself, and the sprites looked like tiny letters! If I increase the size they get really blurred and ugly . I tried adjusting the size on paint, and what do you know!? scratch isn't updating the thumbnails correctly =S
Any suggestions or help?
Thanks!

the thumbnails i find are glitchy, save the paint moded files on your pics and get them from there

Never save a sprite sheet in JPEG format. Use PNG.
But for the thumbnails problem, try saving the sprite sheet under a different name. It worked for me when that happened.

go on paint, put the picture you want in the top left corner, use the []'s to make it so the sprites thing is only that, save, import, BINGO!

Okay, thanks, that was really helpful.
They're not all saved in the same way. some are GIF, others are PNG, but I seem to be having trouble with them all. What are your feelings about BITMAP?

I think maybe it should just crop out all the stuff that doesn't fit rather than shrinking it. And maybe the whole thing could be automatically selected so you can drag it around and choose the part you want to see.
