...time to fix the front page.

In my opinion one user should only be up there for 2 days in any row (save curated/featured/newest) and have a 1 month timer before they can get back up.

This would add mucho opportunities to get onto the front page, and popularize the newer people and drop the mindless animations.

And one more feature:

You must have at least 3 times as many projects as you've been up to be eligible.

This would lead to the end of mindless animations and the beginning of a new time where others can reach the front too.

Back in my day.... there were no laws that censored the internet... now, there are.... nah.

Re: ...time to fix the front page.

Remember, those animations get on the front page because some people are interested in them... Scratchers always forget that  tongue

I don't really like the idea of rules for the front page - I think scmb1's suggestion (Make "What the community is.." rows show 3 random projects from top 10) would work better.  hmm

But what if a project is working its way up through Top Viewed and then manages to get Top Loved?  hmm

Once I got a project on Top Viewed for 1 hour and then Top Loved for 1 day  tongue

Eh animations are cool, it's just meaningless art and stuff without programming that's unneeded there.

OH NOEZ xD What about people like me that don't upload many projects? Every time I upload one, I give it as much as I can...

EDIT: Outposted.

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: ...time to fix the front page.

Well... 3 Random top 10 would still lead to the same 10 being up there usually.

I would rather have people have to wait before they can go back to either of the three.

Yes, I'd like scmb1's suggestion implemented.  smile

Re: ...time to fix the front page.

Okay, maybe not 2 days, because being top loved is hard work and people deserve their 10 day old limit. And other stuffs, so no to that.

For each month, I'd say 2 weeks. A month is a little too long.

3 times the number of projects? So if there's an excellent new scratcher that hasn't posted anything yet, makes their first project and it's the best, they can't reach the front page?

There should be different rules to prevent "randomness" 2 second animations from reaching the front page.
