Well, I'm Scimonster and I support! Actually, I already did.

No. Run and launch are used inside blocks, so a script input could be run using the run block.

Actually I sometimes use launch outside of blocks so that I can run scripts simutainiously but I agree that the run block gets minimal (if any) usage outside of blocks (unless you use it in conjunction with the script and a variable)

Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
Yes, I think BYOB would make a great addition to Scratch 0.2.
you mean 2.0?

I think it should combine the BYOB function to make blocks AND the panther to make blocks that will be TRULY endless blocks
Also, I use script variables a TON outside custom blocks so it shouldn't be just for custom blocks.

Thanks. BYOB + CYOB = Lots and lots of blocks.
Yeah looking back at it I now see that I should have just had report and stop block.

I use report outside of custom blocks occasionally:
|Set [counter method v] to (this script{
|change [variable v] by (1)|
|report (variable)| })
then later use (call (counter method))

I support, but... How would the Scratch Website be able to support all of those blocks?

Do you mean the flash and java players?
I have no idea how that would work. I know mod share's online player doesn't work for BYOB at all.

it just occoured to me that this could be VERY confusing for new scatchers, i was confused when i started byob

I think it's because all viewers have to support a block, and if people can create custom blocks, they wouldn't work. I'm probably wrong though, but it would explain why
1.) Scratch doesn't support modded blocks
2.) People need to show LS97 their mods, he probably updates the player to make them work or something
3.) Mod Share doesn't support BYOB.
I mean, it's a great idea, but I'm not sure it'd work, and if it did, custom blocks would probably give a heck of a lag.

Modded blocks, I believe, are made from changing the source code. BYOB blocks aren't. That's why you can download BYOB projects with extra blocks and pull them out of the pallet.
I think Mod Share's online player is the same as the scratch website's. Blocks in the mods that aren't in Scratch don't work. Much like, for example my project Epic Boss Battles. The stretch block doesn't work online.
As BYOB already exists I can tell you that lag is an issue. I have a fairly fast computer and when I do even a semi-big project it starts to lag a lot.

Well, if all works out well except the lag, I'd want two possible downloads, one for non-byob and one for byob, BYOB one for making, well, you know, even though there'd be lag, and the normal one because I (And surely many others) like the normal Scratch, and new users would get confused
