Bon Jovi is classic rock, not punk. Green Day though, are responsible for bringing punk to the mainstream, so they are definitely punk.

i'm pretty sure classic rock isn't a real genre

i mean it's like a type of music sure but it isn't a genre i think

they call themselves punk but i don't know there are way too many genres these days to keep track of

Green Day isn't soley punk. They're alternative & pop-punk.

White Stripes isn't really punk.
They're alternative, being kind of a meld between blues and punk, but not really punk...
