42!  big_smile  But in all seriousness, I'd go with what Kimmy said, basically. But more like serving God. (I'm a Jehovah's Witness, btw)

Re: The meaning of life?

Life is the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.

I'm not at all religious or anything, so nothing, and I have no purpose IMO.

That would be the definition, not the purpose.

The purpose of life is to live.  Simple enough.  Sure that sounds like a joke but I say it in all seriousness.

42.  The meaning of life isn't a question, therefore it can't be answered as it is actually a statement.  You can't find out the answer, without the question

"What is the meaning of life?"
42 is the answer to The Ultimate Question, not the meaning of life.

The ultimate question is the meaning of life.  Read the "The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the galaxy." What is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything?  Is not actually a question, merely the conversion of a statement into a sentence with the usefulness of having a ?  at the end of it.

I've read the series, but I don't remember that quote.  Whatever, it's not important, we are getting off-topic.

But then, that's assuming that life has always been on Earth, and will forever be on Earth.

it's also a paradox considering the first generation didn't have anything to fix so why were they here

The title of the thread is:
The meaning of life?

A definition is a statement of the exact meaning of a word.

You could say that life has forever been on Earth, and always will be to fix that paradox.
