This is my scratch story:
I first learnt about scratch at school and I found it really fun and entertaining. We decided to make a scratch account for our school called AspenwoodChall and we uploaded all of our projects and had a lot of fun. Then about a month after that I asked my dad if we could download scratch on to our computer. My dad said yes so me and my brother dowloaded it and made a scratch account (brgbdg9nanana). We had lots of fun and even got onto the front page once. Then after all that died down me and my brother decided to make our own scratch accounts. Mine ended up as it is now (soccerisawsome) and my brother called his originally bg19mtb but then he eventually forgot his password (lol) and made b_g.

well, I read in a "college for kids" brochure that you could create your own video games with a simple, easy to use program called scratch. I was taught by one of the teachers at my nearby college for a week. I expanded my knowledge of scratch, and I think that I'm better than the teacher now.

Well...
I was looking for Penguin Chat 3 remakes.
At first, I thought it was a game, alright.
But then, time has passed...
And I visited Scratch again...
And I tried to make a project...
And that's how I created my account.

Well...
I was at school, but not in a computer class.
Kberryberry and I were supposed to be writing our research papers for L.A.,
but the laptops were taken so we were sent down to the library. We researched
for about 20 minutes, and then Kberrberry went to Scratch, and started looking at
other people's projects. (She learned about in a computer class) So I asked her what it
was, and she told me it was a programming website. So I tried it and about a month after she told me about it, I created my account. I've been addicted ever since.

I was at computer lab in school and the computer I was assigned to use had scratch on it. I tried it out and was instantly hooked. I asked my teacher where I could get scratch, and she told me to go to this website when I got home. That's how I started scratch!

Hmmm, well I applied for this science mentoring thing at school, and then I got it, so I had to pick a faculty member to do research with....and so I talked to Prof. Berg, and he did stuff about Scratch, and I was really interested. I downloaded it, started programming...
and now I'm a computer science major!

my story, is well, i was on miniclip.com (which is a great game site, by the way,) and they had made accounts. there was somthing called "sketch star" on it and i though was really cool becasue i could make my own animations! + i loved programming and sruff like that. so i was playing on it, but there was no commenting, you had a lilmit of 100 slides, and i worked on mutiple projects that got deleted because of a problem or that little button on the side of the mouse that goes back, because they didn't have a good saving system. i looked for a long time for a nice program. I found 3. one was too complex, and i couldn't understand, 1 you needed to buy and the 3rd, well, it was in a different language. finally, i saw scratch. their website was super cool and i downloaded it to see what I thought. i got impatiant at first becasue i couldn't figure it out, but then i checked out the sample team projects, and then i understood. now i can program super well and I am encouraging others to do so too!
Thanks Scratch!

Well when i first discovered scratch, i was playing on the totally awsome gamesite, Nitrome, and one day in their blog, there was some links to Nitrome-games made in scratch. first i didn't even follow the links, but another day, i cheked it out, and was like o_O (also because only one of the links worked). next day i didn't know why, but i just had to go back to that site! i looked at other peoples projects, i remember that string art was up at the moment! then i got my account, and kinda egoistic i thougt "im gonna have the coolest icon on this site" cus i know how to make animations in GameMaker, wich i've been using before. soon i saw that like half of all scratchers had animated icons (lol!) and mine didn't even loop! what?!?! anyway i had to get the program, cus i was SO interested in programming, and now i could actually show people! YAYZ!! the first commenter was paddle2See, and we started talking, and soon we was "Friends", thougt im 12, and hes like... grown up i think?
when i went to see his projects, i found out what an awsome scratcher he is! its unbeliveable! i also saw that he was the discoverer of string art.
i really hope somebody took time to read all this, cus this is MY SCRATCH STORY!

Well, I used to LOVE to read Popular Science, especially the DIY (do-It-Yourself). Well, I saw in an old issue that there was designing your own stuff. Naturally, I asummed you would be using the computer (duh, it's Pop Sci). I saw that they had something about programming in the ocrner. They said Scratch is very simple, so I tried it, it seemed to hard,I saw they recommended something simpler (it was you have your picture that they make into a game) so I went back to Scratch, and, well, here I am
Bluestribute, I found it the exact same way
.I had been looking for new game programmers for a couple days and my next issue came and there it was! Thats basically my whole story. Now I'm just creating projects and trying to help people.
I also found it that way that is very weird

Ok, this is how I found out about scratch: I saw someone else at school using it in their free time. I never had any free time, and I wanted to understand what they were doing. at home one day, I googled scratch and I downloaded it and tried it out a little. At first, I just made cool backgrounds by filling with the gradients and drawing costumes (see "thing-fun background"- at http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DarthPickley/159800 ). my next project was something called "Draw Rainbow"- not too advanced programming, but I was intrigued by the results http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DarthPickley/160373 . The patterns it made were really cool. I was pretty proud of myself. but then I made another project, which was okay, then more, which were okay too. My fifth project, Clubpenguin 1, has 18 comments http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DarthPickley/188402 ! (That's one of the highest-commented projects I have, though) After that, I started making hundreds of projects (I have 194 projects right now). Actually, after Clubpenguin 1, my rate of project making went from about 5 in 2 months, to about 190 in 3 months. (this would be equivalent to a proportion of 15 to 380, or 3 to 76, or even (( 3 </> 76 )) ). This would probably be because of a much better understanding of scratch, and I have definetily settled in with scratch. Every day, I think about ideas for new projects when I get home. Scratch is pretty much part of my life. (don't let my parents see this, they will ban me from Scratch for being "addicted")
