It has recently been announced that pop-rock phenomenon Blink-182 is to release a new single, featuring Justin Bieber performing a rap piece.
The new track details are as follows:
Name: Livin' in the Spotlight
Length: 3:21
Release Date: 12th July 2011
Other Tracks on the Single:
> Livin' in the Spotlight [Punk Remix]
> Livin' in the Spotlight [Instrumental]
The highly-anticipated release will be an R&B-inspired tune, with every tween's favourite male singer trying his hand at rapping. The track was recorded in late February, and details have been kept under wraps until now.
There is very little information available on this new single: though it is said to be a breakthrough piece of music and could pave the way for a whole new genre of music.
There are even speculations that Justin Bieber will take a new direction in life, and become a full-time rapper.
This has caused uproar among the many 'Beliebers' devoted to their idol. His hit single 'Baby' was an instant number one in UK charts. Could this unprecedented change spark the end of his career?
Blink-182 have refused to comment on this matter. When approached by The Daily Mail for an interview, they simply dismissed it as 'a rumour'. However, on certain websites, a small 8-second clip of the track can be easily downloaded. These small snippits reveal little about the sing itself, though it is an up-tempo piece with heavy bass in the background.
Justin Bieber is in Birmingham at the moment, and also refuses to confirm rumours.
One UK charts website claims to have the lyrics for the song's chorus, as detailed below:
Yeah, yeah
Livin' in the spotlight
Jammin' in the limelight
Think I like it
Yeah, right
'Cuz I ain't got my baby (Baby, ooh)
Do I care? (Maybe, heck yeah)
I'd lose my deadly lifestyle (yo, forget it for a while)
To have my girl back
A far cry from Blink's past releases, the recording boasts strong, emotional lyrics. Critics have dubbed it 'A lyrical Masterpiece'.
I will update when more articles on this appear.
