Wow. That's perfectly fair.

My school holds this raffle each year. The winner of the raffle gets a bag of easter eggs, chocolates ect..

They give you a form where you write down the amount off raffles you want, then you pay your dollars and wait for the assembly where they announce it.

This year I had no real intrest in it. So when I got my form I threw it away. That was 2 weeks ago.

Now, my teacher announces that whomever does not bring there raffle form back, empty or not, will sit principal detention.

And I'm thing "What the [removed]?"

What do they want to do with the empty forms? Eat them?

So now I'm sitting detention Friday for not having a piece of useless paper handed in.

EDIT: I'm year 8. Not year 6, that was a typo.

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.

Why would they care about the opinion of a Year 8 student?

I'm not popular with the staff, as I am young and spirited. They'll probably snap and ask me to mind my own bussiness.

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

Just so you know, my teacher is also our grade head, thus it isn't a rule. The grade heads can give out DT slips for any reason they like.

Wow, that's stupid. They really should've at least warned you at the beginning. And plus, what's wrong with not having a blank sheet of paper. You should probably ask them, however hard it may seem. And if they say "none of your bee's wax" just start a conversation on bees and their habitat. Wait, that's not right...

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

The same used to go for me- only if one boy or girl did something, all of the boys or all of the girls would have to stay in. The same teacher also happensed to "not have heard" most of the girls yelling at the top of their lungs, when the boys are a little too loud..

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

Kidnap the principal, hold him for ransom, use the ransom money to bribe the principal out of your detention. Easy.

Not if you have cheese. Cheese makes kidnapping easy.

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

Tell the principal you threw it out before they announced the rule. If you're still forced to go to detention, tell your parents, and give them every detail. Because it wasn't your fault, and you should not have to go to detention for that.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

you can tell the idiots to suck up and that you don't care and go on some peaceful protest with the other innocent sit-ins.

tell them their rule is stupid, and if it's a stupid rule, would your parents even care for you to defy it for justice?

Re: Wow. That's perfectly fair.

Maybe they where short on forms. If you go to a public school then I can see why. Though reprints are hardly going to make a dent in a budget.

For a rule to apply it must of been made before it was broken.
It can't be broken before it was made. That's just silly.
