The most likely event is if Scratch runs out of money. 2/3 of Scratch getting banned? Seems a bit drastic to get rid of 503,298 Scratchers. 2012 won't happen, it's an emo belief that has gotten into the wrong hands (just my thoughts). The lame theory, I don't quite understand how that will work... do you mean people will quit because it is getting more lame? I dunno. Laziness is fairly possible, I guess. But I reckon Scratch will go on for a long time yet, considering how much Scratch has grown in the last year. It's too early to think these things, though.
so, you think the Donations theory is the most plausible?
Yes, I do.

It'll end on Tuesday when I hack into the internet (what the heck?) and shut down Scratch.

Well,Scratch isn't the ONLY animation and game creating software out there. It's not like everyone in the WORLD is on scratch, because their not. Also that, I think scratch will go on for another 10 or 12 years.

why? where's your prove?
FACT: I know of at least 30+ schools in the area i live in that use Scratch.
There is probably a lot more.

I have a theory.
Scratch is a project that largely requires monetary donations and grants to keep running, right? I think that, if Scratch will end, it will be because no one wants to continue the project or there's no funding for it anymore.
[Kind of a fearful possibility considering the way the economy is right now...]
What if people donate to scratch?
That would help keep it alive.
We'd need quite a bit of it though to keep it going. ^^
Now if it's possible to have every member donated a dollar every year, that would be like $700,000+ a year for Scratch.![]()
How much would you need?

That doesn't answer the question. She said: "every member donated a dollar every year, that would be like $700,000+ a year for Scratch."
That doesn't answer how much they need.

Things are getting a bit tense, ne? Calm down, you two.
$700,000 dollars is a lot but I don't know if that is how much money the Scratch Team needs to keep Scratch going. The money to fund any research project, Scratch or otherwise, has a tendency to fluctuate over time - who knows? maybe in a few years, the money required will increase, maybe it will decrease.

Calm your horses.
Scratch won't end, cause its a freeware project, and he makers probably do something else as well.
The donations are to make sure they keep running.
That's my theory.
And also, stop flaming Calexby and TV.

I asked a question, TV replied, I said that didn't answer the question. I never "raised my voice" so to speak. I wasn't flaming, and I'd appreciate it if you didn't accuse me of it.
