This topic is to tell you guys how scratch will end. if you have an idea, post it
Theory oneThe argument
This theory says that, two very famous Scratchers will get in a big fight. Since they are famous, many people will follow them. The Scratch team will then, finally, be involved. They will ban an estimated 2/3 of all Scratchers. The remaining people will be dormant accounts and new scratchersTheory two
Laziness
This theory say that, quiting will be very popular in the future. As time goes on, more and more people will quit. Finally, no one will be on scratch.new generation scratchers will be the only ones left but of course, no one will be able to help them so they stay very primitive. smart scratchers might figure out what there ancestors found C. 5 years before them but that has only a .4% chance(the same chance that 5 of your projects will be on the front page at the same time)Theory three
2012
Theory four
lame projects
this theory says that, projects will get more lame and soon, there will be no more need for people to be on scratch.(see theory two)Theory five
donations
this theory says that, scratch needs donations to stay alive. what if no one donated?scratch would be forgottenTheory six
forever
this theory says that, scratch will live forever.it will not end.these may be scary and might seem silly but one day, they might soon happen
And guess how this thread is gonna end?

In two years all the cool people will have been banned or quited.
Huh. That's to say that the people who try not to get banned, and quite enjoy programming aren't cool. Of course, that's coming from you.
As to the laziness theory, with a particularlly insane piece of logic, people may become too lazy to quit!
Anyway, I think that one day Blade-Edge will get hungry. Really hungry. Enough said.

Well, if Scratch ever does shut down, I'll head back over to Gamespot and post in the video game forums there.

If the problem was that large, the Scratch Team would only ban the main people involved (probably just the original 2). They'd just let it slide for everyone else. Just look at spamming/chain letter situations now!
Theory two
Laziness
This theory say that, quiting will be very popular in the future. As time goes on, more and more people will quit. Uh...
Theory five
donations
this theory says that, scratch needs donations to stay alive. what if no one donated?scratch would be forgotten
Scratch would not be forgotten, but likely this would get lots of news coverage and a ton of people on Scratch would start donating.
Theory six
forever
this theory says that, scratch will live forever.it will not end.
Nothing lasts forever.

The most likely event is if Scratch runs out of money. 2/3 of Scratch getting banned? Seems a bit drastic to get rid of 503,298 Scratchers. 2012 won't happen, it's an emo belief that has gotten into the wrong hands (just my thoughts). The lame theory, I don't quite understand how that will work... do you mean people will quit because it is getting more lame? I dunno. Laziness is fairly possible, I guess. But I reckon Scratch will go on for a long time yet, considering how much Scratch has grown in the last year. It's too early to think these things, though.

so, you think the Donations theory is the most plausible?
