What to do, what to do?????
Oh, hello, news!!!!
DO NOT REMIX NIGHT AT THE DREARY CASTLE IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF GREY BEAR PRODUCTIONS!!!!!!!
Dear Scratch Team.
Recently people have been remixing our Night At The Dreary castle video game that are not in grey bear productions, and we would let them in grey bear, but we are currently full, but people do not seem to understand when we say "DO NOT REMIX NIGHT AT THE DREARY CASTLE IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF GREY BEAR PRODUCTIONS!!!!!!!"
We really need some advice on what to do, because I know I, and some other members as well, are ticked off by this, please write back.
Sincerely,
Jman720

I agree, but maybe it was the early announcing of an unfinished game by a prominent company... (recipe for unofficial finished versions!)
Also, I am pretty ticked at them too, they have no right to make rip-offs!!!

Whats wrong with people remixing it? The motto of the site is imagine, program,SHARE!
If lots of people are remixing your project more people will see you logo. Thats more publicity for you.
Seriously, I don't see the problem.

Grey Bear productions has enough publicity, we have a strict policy that the scratch team knows, we know, and you should know, that policy is:
DON'T REMIX OUR PROJECTS IF YOU"RE NOT A MEMBER!
All we ask is that you don't remix it if you are not a member.

That policy is silly because you have no control over the people who want to remix your projects. If you want to make it so that people can't remix your work then program in another language that doesn't require all projects to be open source.

I cant see the problem. Why dont you make a website called Grey Bear and put the Scratch projects there. I think you can do that.

Jman720 - I'm sorry that you are upset by the remixes. However, as Archmage pointed out, everything shared on the Scratch site is open source and others are allowed (and encouraged) to remix. The thinking behind this policy is that allowing others to look at your work and change it encourages learning and stimulates creativity. Clearly Grey Bear has stimulated a lot of creativity and learning with this very popular project! You deserve congratulations.

I know scratch encourages it and I'm proud that we inspire people, and we have no problem(or at least I don't) with people making a "Look Alike" of it, but we just want to preserve the "Grey Bear's Night at The Dreary Castle game" as a sort of official version,do you know what I mean?
On look alikes....TOO ALL NON-MEMBERS!
I{f you are to make a look alike like this person http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MohamedSadek/268354 , feel free to!!!!!!!!
Just make it look different and give it a different name!
