I stumbled upon this thing, Game Maker, while illegally surfing the web during computer class, at my friend's direction.
But anyway, it's quite similar to Scratch. Sprites are like Costumes, Objects are Sprites, Events are header blocks and Actions are normal blocks. Quite fun.
I came to the conclusion that you use it for longer, complicated games.

IMO Game Maker is more capable and more confusion then Scratch. Never quite understood it.
Quite true, but it's also better able to support the actual game dynamics. For example, Scratch wasn't created for games, so it has to be able to be used for animations and such. GM was created for games specifically, so it would fit better if you wanted to create a scrolling shooter with velocity, say. After all, in Scratch you have to innovate a scrolling engine;with GM, there is already one.
