it STINKS don't take this too harsh but I HATE it
Why? It works almost exactly like the Java player...
Perhaps rather than stating your opinions blatantly like that, it would be best to tell the Scratch Team why you hate it so they can work on fixing things up a little?

I tried oneof those Synos projects by 08jackt, and one required download, but when I ran it in Flash online, it acted like the project was downloaded No download required thanks mods!

java works best with games and flash works best with animations.
I think those are the games that were designed for Java.

Dear Scratch team,
The Flash Player is great, but I have experienced gliches.
For example, the music and sound scratch often, and there have been a few times where the music keeps scraching and the computer freezes up. Control+Alt+Delete doesn't work, and the mouse-pointer can't move so we are forced to use the power button to turn it off, and sometimes the music (not scratching anymore) will continue even as it is off. If you guys can help me with this, I would appreciate it .

i really like it because it makes projects run faster.

Very good flash player. I now don't have to download projects to get them to work. I have bandwidth limitations. And downloading projects kills my bandwidth. With the flash player I can now view projects online. This is truly a great project.

I really like that their is the Flash-Based version available, because recently there has been some vulnerability to Java and because it is cross-platform, it plagues both Mac’s and PC’s. And because i have a Mac, when i first heard of this i was nervous because Mac’s don’t get this stuff. What i am saying is that i have my Java turned off on my Mac so their are no possibilities of viruses and only turn it on when i know that the publisher is trusted (such as Minecraft, and Scratch) and i am happy because i don’t have to go turn on Java to use this website so that saves me time and energy (it’s not that much to do, but every time i visit this site it is a bit annoying). So i say keep the flash on the site and if you want to read more about the Java issue here is the article:

But one thing I noticed was that when you scrolled down quickly to view the comments etc, the sound would blare giving me a horrible sound as if...well, you get the point ^^
Besides that, awesome ^^
Is that just then, or did it just get louder? Report bugs here.

The fact that speech bubbles are larger than in the Java player can lead to speech bubbles suddenly hiding things they are not supposed to hide. But then again, it was probably never "allowed" to rely on precise speech bubble sizes.
The good thing is that projects now even play properly in my firefox browser, instead of just stopping in the middle as they used to do a lot with the Java player. So I like it!
