Who started this idiocy?

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET TO FRONT PAGE! 1. copy and paste this onto 5 projects that are on front page. 2. copy ans paste this on the thing you want to get front paged. 3. log out 4. log in. 5. look at front page!

HA HA HA. You know what you are.

The only thing those steps will gain you is banned for spamming.

(In my opinion, whoever started this should be banned.)

Okay, first of all, this is complete nonsense. It is spam and doesn't even work!

Second of all, the spammer that started this need to brush up on their spelling.
He/she should have learned how to spell 'and' several years [or decades] ago.

It was all over Roblox, too. Who can forget the "Buy this shirt and get FREE robux!" hoax? There was also the same thing that Bolt-Bait mentioned, except it was also with robux. I can't believe I fell for those. Oh, and who can forget the "Copy and paste this onto five different games or else you will die" things?

Thanks to everybody that flagged these! I got rid of a bunch this morning and I believe I stamped them all out.

I don't think that we need to get all that worked up about this kind of thing though - it happens fairly regularly and the solution is simple - just flag the comments and let the Scratch Team handle them.

You have to remember that a lot of people using Scratch are inexperienced in the ways of the world and may actually believe that some magical combination of posts will lead to fame and fortune. Our job, as good internet citizens, is to gently educate them about the harmfulness of spam of any sort. A simple reply of "Please don't spam - chain letter comments don't work" - and then flag it - would probably get the message across. Or just flag it if you don't feel like replying.

Again, thanks for the help identifying and stopping this spam.

I seriously never imagined this would ever happen. I guess I'll just stick to flagging some of them, and letting people know if I ever get front-paged (not very likely).

It's pretty sad that all people care about in Scratch is fame, though.
