Edit:  About one and a quarter billion years.  Well, I won't have to worry about my banana disappearing overnight then.

Actually, you'd just have to worry about the potassium in your banana. 

Well, then I definitely won't have to worry about it disappearing overnight then.

Eating 1000 bananas has the equivalent risk of driving 40 miles in a car. And doing either one can make you feel sick.

No. 1, Everything is related (All life evolved from bacteria) 2. The radioactivity comes from the potassium nutrient in the banana, which we don't really have naturally., and 3, everything is radioactive on some small level, but bananas are just slightly more radioactive than normal.

You would need to eat over 10,000,000 (not 9000) Bannanas to feel the effects. But by that time, you would be sick already  .
