New HIVE games are still coming! upd8 and humorous developement notes

Yes, i know it's been a while, but more HIVE games are still in the making. Currently unnamed HIVE spinoff is currently in production, basically a huge upgrade to the original engine with custom ships, powerups, multiplayer and the like.

i will make it compatible with DLC, so feel free to make your own ship designs, and be ready to upload them when the game comes.

What i might need from you guys:

HIVE Multiplayer is going to be mild, and is making the progress much longer. should i or should i not include multiplayer in the official HIVE II?

Powerup/weapon ideas

A name for it. seriously.

Anything else you might want to see in the release.

Here are my (Geniune) developement notes from it. Note: I'm Australian, so my date is in a different format. downside is that we don't have Pi day.  sad

Today I did more work on the tedious task of placing sensors to realize that the enemies are getting shot by player 2. I am nearly halfway through here. Next time, if I manage to finish, I will implement the CHOP SHOP scrolling script to fix the background. I will remove multiplayer in HIVE 2. Too much work for something that nobody will probably use.

Today I continued placing sensors, hopefully now completed, but untested. Now I can’t do something with my hands while thinking about the videogames I’m going to play when I get home. I am currently thinking how I will go about making custom ships, and where to implement the menu. Bored. Gah, that script from CHOP SHOP didn’t work, I suppose now I’ll have to devise one my lazy self.

Now that sensors are basically finished, now I have to think. Deciding what and how to place custom ships (likely going to be an unlockable selection, buy via points collected) and power up weapons. Multiplayer sucks, Probably going to be detrimental to the HIVE trilogy in the long term. And can’t be bothered to fix the fact that you get 2 lives rather than 3 + more vulnerability. At least, with the new power ups, I can do something with that reserved space that is supposed to provide hints in-game. As if anybody ever used them.

Nothing yet. Lolwut, I have no idea what happened today. I’m pretty sure I was awake.

Worked on the powerups. Not sure how it’ll work on multiplayer. I’ll probably take the easy route. Anyway, I put them in on the first projectile.

I finally got the first powerup working. The object that triggers it currently resembles a red scribble on a green blob. Now, I got an opinion from someone, and the choice was either to have the laser powerup to have a time limit or a certain number of shots available. They said it would be better if it were a time limit. (note: one cannot switch weapons. It would make the controls awkward in this fast-paced game, especially on the sucky multiplayer. Did I mention the multiplayer sucks?)

Weird glitch appeared, and partially fixed by an equally weird and unexplained fix. Might get someone like 08jackt or RHY to have a look at it. Anyway, first powerup working, might secretly upload it to one of my accounts to test the glitch online, faster.
